The purpose of music videos-script

I am going to talk about how music videos promote the artist or band, from the 1960s when music videos were starting to be experimented with. Music videos have been much more of a regular occurrence in today's society with almost every signed artist or bands having a music video for each and every one of their songs. Music videos are effective for promoting the artist or band because they give a visual representation of the artist to attract the fans or the audience; making a girl artist look sexually appealing to the fans. Having music videos meant that massive bands like 'The Beatles' didn't particularly need to perform live to fans and gave more of an opportunity for the specific track to be heard, this meant that the appeal of bands like the Beatles grew larger and further.

Also, music videos are used for extension of income. Music videos help to keep the artist or band in the public eye for a few months after the release of their album or new track; leaving them in the public eye for as long as possible. Which means the artist or band will continue to rack up sales off their new album or track for months after the release. Technology has been majorly progressing since the 1960s and it's now a huge influence on the music industry. Since music videos entered television on stations such as MTV, music videos started to have a big impact on the popularity of an artist and a lot of hard work went into music videos, examples of this would be Michael Jacksons thriller music video; arguably one of the most popular videos of all time.
