PEER EVALUATION
When my peers gave me feedback they thought the
‘BUZZ’ logo suited the genre because the bright colors represent the genre- as, in pop videos bright colors are used. Also
they guessed it was pop due to the cartoon-like character on the logo- they
knew that the target audience was younger people as it was more fun and exciting
to look at for that age group- they mostly said 9-16.
Most people mentioned that i used a lot of various "great" photoshop skills that came out clearly effective.
My peers realised that the circle round the logos were what was linking the logos together.
Also, a couple of people said that maybe to improve the logos I could put 'OW MUSIC' on it somewhere.

Final Logos
I could save this as a JPG as it is widely supported by many web browsers.
I could save this logo as a photoshop eps as it is a vector file and doesn't lose quality when zooming in on the file.
I could save this logo as a PSD because it will preserve all the layers which means that you would be able to edit the logo at any time and it won't get deleted or lost.
I could also save it as a PNG if I needed a transparent background.

SCREEN GRABS
I used the ellipse tool to create a circle, holding down shift whilst enlarging it to make sure it was in proportion. I then used the paint bucket tool to simply colour in the entire circle red. I did this because the circle links all three radio stations together.
I gave the character a fairly thick outer glow that looked slightly fuzzy, i did this by sliding and increasing the noise bar on the outer glow. This was to show clearly that it was a lightning bolt striking to also link to the name of the radio station; which was "BUZZ" - therefore i gave the character a buzz effect.
I chose to have the 'Z' of my font being struck by the lightning bolt and having the top of it eroded and broken apart to make the logo look more intriguing to the target audience. I did this by typing out the entire word 'BUZZ' to the correct size I specifically wanted then i seperated the 'Z' by selecting the 'Z' using the election tool and then right clicked and pressed layer via cut, to change it into a picture. Then I zoomed in on the 'Z' and used the eraser tool to make it look like it had been struck by the lightning bolt and i also added the same outer glow to the 'Z' to suggest that it had been struck.
I then put the rest of the title in the correct place so it was in line with the other 'Z'.
I used the ellipse tool to create a circle, holding down shift whilst enlarging it to make sure it was in proportion. I then used the paint bucket tool to simply colour in the entire circle midnight blue. I did this because the circle links all three radio stations together.
I used my scanned in sketch for the font and the pulse underlining the font as a guideline to improve it and make it look much more professional but i wanted to give the logo a vintage look so i preferred it to look drawn free hand. I did this by simply using the paint brush to colour it all in and also used the paint brush round the edge of it to sharpen the edges and show the outline more clearly. I used the paint brush and paint bucket tool to colour it in properly.
I gave the logo some effects to make it look more attracting to the target audience by using the Bevel and Emboss, I clicked on layer, layer style, bevel and emboss and then changed the settings of the structure of the bevel and emboss and then the shading to give it the effect that i did.
I then clicked on layer, layer style, outer glow and i gave the font and the pulse a really thin outer glow just to finish it off and make it stand out more.
Finally, I found that the whole logo was too bright for the midnight blue background of the circle so i decreased the brightness of the logo to give it a darker effect.
I then used a font from 'Dafont.com' and scattered the letters of the 'MIXX' title in order to suggest that the letters had be blasted out of the speaker in the sound wave. I chose the contrasting colours of Red and White to make the title stand out.
SELF EVALUATION
The genre for this logo draft of 'MIXX' radio station is Dance and Garage music. I believe the target audience for this logo would preferably be aimed at people aged over 30 years of age, but of course others out of this target audience would definitely listen to this popular genre of music. This is because i find that it is what they would have listened to or mainly heard back in their time, e.g. out clubbing, on the radio etc. when garage music was in its prime. This is why i drew the mini speaker with the effect of the sound blasting out to show that the music was mainly used for clubbing, raving and played really loud, also i made the letters look like they were dancing to show the genre of dance music and party tunes.
The genre for this logo draft of 'PULSE' radio station is house music- I believe the target audience for this station would be people over the age of 25 because this music was mostly what this age group would genuinely listen to throughout their childhood as this style of music was around in the hits, beginning to become quite popular again and be a big interest in careers and so on in their childhood era; or maybe they were influenced and brought up by their parents listening to it or even playing it. This is why i gave the logo a vintage styled look about it- with the union jack colours and the dark background. Also to make the logo stand out to this audience i gave the font extra effects such as Bevel and Emboss and a thin outer glow.
The Genre for this Logo draft of 'Buzz' is pop music- I believe the target audience would be mainly young children aged between 7 and 16 because most young people are intrigued by the latest chart hits on popular radio stations and youtube- this group would give the 'Buzz' station most of the popularity. This is why I have used a range of bright colours within the logo and a cartoon-like lightning strike in order to attract these young people to listen in to the station on a regular basis with the latest and best-rated pop hits.
